If you’re in search for a curling iron that provides natural looking results and an affordable tool for your short strands, you may be on the right page. Infinitipro’s tourmaline ceramic Curling Wand is one of our favorites for short strands this year, as it offers the slimmest wand-shaped barrel in the market. It leaves out the holding clamp on purpose to provide a more undone look to your strands. As you can imagine, you have to use your both hands to style your strands with this tool, and is a bit more complicated and less beginner-friendly than a spring iron. But once you get the hang of it, it’s quite straightforward. It has two different size options. The smaller one is 0.5” to 1”, which is extraordinarily slim. This size is perfect for pixie and bob cuts. The larger option of 0.75” to 1.25” is the standard size in the market for tapered wands and is quite versatile, fittings almost all hair types and lengths. That said, its tapered shape is also worth mentioning. It’s larger on the base and narrower at the tip. This means the curls that are created are looser and more voluminous at the base and tighter at the tips of the strands. It comes with a tourmaline ceramic barrel. Ceramic is known to provide a gentler styling experience and perfect for beginners. Tourmaline has negative ions inside that eliminates frizz from your strands while styling. So if you have frizzy hair, it’s definitely an option to consider. It has 5 different heat settings. The maximum setting is high enough to tame the unruly strands, but the lowest temperature is on the limit of being too high for fine and damaged hair. It has a non slip barrel that holds the strands in place so they get exposed to the heat for longer than usual. This tool is not for the onse that want the best quality material and don’t mind paying for its price. It’s a budget tool that does a very decent job though. So if you’re after luxury, there are many others on our list that will satisfy you better.

If you’re seeking the best curling iron for short hair, rest assured, the InfinitiPRO by Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Tapered Curling Wand has you covered.

Below we share our experiences with “Infinitipro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Wand”.

Shape

A taperer wand is a quite common shape amongst curling irons. It appeals to the home stylings which are after very natural looking results. As it’s a wand, it leaves the holding clamp out on purpose to create s-shaped curls. Different parts of the strands are exposed to different levels of heat, which results in more casual looking results. You will have to hold the tips of your strands with your second hand while styling, and it takes a bit of getting used to if you’re a beginner. But it’s still pretty straightforward. But it’s good to take extra care as the hand gets too close to the heated barrel.

Its tapered shape provides even a more undone look with different sized curls. The base of the strands is wrapped around the larger side of the barrel and turn in to larger and more voluminous locks. The tips of the strands, on the other hand, become tighter curls.

If you would rather have sleek and perfect looking results, we recommend to seek a spring iron with a holding clamp which provides a finer finish and spiral curls.

Size

When it comes to size, this tool really stands out as the smallest wand shaped tool on our list. It comes with a It comes in two sizes, in terms of barrel width. The larger one, which is 1.25” to 0.75”, is the usual size that you find in the market in tapered wand shaped tools. It’s a very versatile size that fits almost all hair lengths and styling needs. The smaller option of 1” to 0.5”, on the other hand, is a very extraordinary one that you don’t come across very often. This size is designed to accommodate even the shortest hair types and the ones that wand very tight yet casual curls. Fitting perfectly to bob cuts and even shorter strands, this tool is definitely one of our favorite curling irons for short hair this year.

The length of its barrel is 5.5” and considered medium length. This size is also a very convenient number if you can’t decide and want to be on the safe side, as it fits almost all needs.

Heat and Variable Settings

When it comes to heat settings, we can’t say that we’re very impressed, as it only comes with 5 variable heat settings. Its maximum temperature of 400°F is quite perfect and can tame unruly strands. So you don’t need to worry if you have thick hair. Its minimum heat setting on the other hand, is not very low with 285°F. This number works if you have strands with normal thickness, but as the hair type gets thinner and more fragile, it may be a bit too hot to be heat-safe. So, we can’t really recommend this tool if you have very fine or damaged hair. There are many other tools on our list that will satisfy you much more if this is the case.

Material and Performance

Tourmaline Ceramic is the material of choice with this tool which kind of saves the harshness of its heat settings. Ceramic makes this tool much gentler than the other materials and provides a slow and even heat distribution. This material is not only it’s less likely to damage your strands, it also is much more beginner-friendly. It gives so much more room for mistakes as it’s quite slow. That said, speed is not this material’s strong suit. If you want a very fast tool in your hand, you may want to consider a different tool with a titanium barrel instead.

Its tourmaline coating adds the extra touch of eliminating frizz. This is a semi-precious stone that eliminates negative ions, providing frizz-free results. So, if you have frizzy strands which you would like to get rid of, this tool is a great option.

This tool is not the fastest nor the most durable option in the market. It’s strength is more its ergonomic and compact design that makes it very easy to handle, especially for short strands. It’s a budget product with a budget material quality. Yet we haven’t received any complaints regarding to its performance and it does a decent job a curling your strands while being sturdy to hold. We can say that its price vs performance is quite fair.

Features

Features of this tool is quite limited, but satisfying, as much as a budget tool should provide.

A non-slip barrel is a rare property amongst curling irons which this tool surprisingly provides. It usually is a luxury feature that keeps the tips of strands close to the barrel for longer, providing more defined curls.

It comes with a 60-minute auto shut-off that makes this tool fire-safe, which in our opinion is an essential feature for home stylists.

It doesn’t come with ionic technology that eliminates frizz, but it compensates with its tourmaline-coated barrel in this department. So don’t you worry, your frizz issues will be solved with this tool.

Dual voltage is a highly appreciated feature amongst travellers which this tool fails to provide. It has only single voltage and you should be aware, in case you want to travel with your tool, that it may not fit with other countries’ electrical systems.

Ergonomics

It’s relatively lightweight tool with only 7.1 oz, considering the average is 8oz amongst curling irons. We really appreciate this fact as it can get very frustrating to hold hair tools for longer periods of time. It also makes this tool more compact and travel-friendly, yet its single voltage kind of ruins things in this department.

Its handle has a diameter of 1”, and it’s considered middle size, fitting hands comfortably.

It has a generous cool tip and is very easy to handle and maneuver. Considering all, we can say that this tool is quite ergonomically designed.

It doesn’t have a digital display, but comes with a digital temperature control which is convenient enough for most.

It also has the usual integrated counter rest that makes sure your hot tool doesn’t touch the surface while being used.

Its cord is 6” and we have to say, quite short. It’s fine to use if your plug is next to your mirror, but if you need more space to move, may get a bit annoying.

Price & Warranty

This is a very fairly priced tool and has outstanding qualities, as much as it can be expected from a budget product. Surely, it’s not the most durable curling iron in the market, but we think it’s great value for money, with only $29. It also comes with a 5-year limited warranty which is a very extraordinary number, considering most tools come with only 2 years.

Competition

First of all, this tool is a budget product and its can’t really compete with a luxury tool when it comes to material quality. If you’re in a hunt for the best curling iron and you don’t mind paying the price for it, we recommend Drybar The Wrap Party. This is an outstanding tapered wand-shaped curling iron with similar heat settings and ceramic material as well. But it comes with the highest quality material in the market. You just feel its luxury the moment you hold this tool and it of course comes with its luxury price of $170.

and if you have thick hair, Infiniti also offers the titanium version of this tool: InfinitiPRO by Conair Rose Gold Titanium Curling Wand
